Meet Our Staff
Dave Klingensmith Jr., Pastor
Dave recently became the lead Pastor of Sandy Hill. For thirteen years, Dave was the Associate Pastor, serving primarily in the areas of Worship and Youth ministry. Dave and his wife Bel have been happily married since 1999 and have one son, Isaiah. Dave met Bel at Sandy Hill and they grew close through serving on the Worship Music Team, and joining the same Small Group. Bel majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish at Goshen College, where she earned her undergraduate degree. Her passions are music, reading, and GOOD COFFEE! The family lives together near Parkesburg, Pa.
Dave first came to Sandy Hill, as a boy, in 1975. He attended throughout his childhood and youth, with regular involvement. As an adult, he became a member and increased his involvement in active ministry. Then, during his course of study at Lancaster Bible College, he began to serve in leadership. Following God's call to Ministry, Dave came on staff at Sandy Hill in 2003, first half-time and later full-time.
Dave has passion for music, which he and Bel share at Sandy Hill. Besides studying Bible, he studied Music Ministry at Lancaster Bible College, where he received his B.S. Besides music and Bible, Dave enjoys spending time at home with Bel and Isaiah, playing various sports, and over-analyzing movies with close friends.
Even with the changes and transitions to his new pastoral responsibilities, Dave continues to be a grateful to God for Sandy Hill. He knows he belongs here among these beautiful people he loves and have so deeply loved him and Bel, and Isaiah. He feels a sincere sense of belonging among and support from the people of Sandy Hill. Finally, Dave expresses gratitude for the years of mentoring and friendship under the leadership of Pastor Dale Weaver, who recently retired from ministry at Sandy Hill. Pastor Dale was Sr. Pastor of Sandy Hill for over fourteen years and was very influential in the lives of people at the church...including Dave.
