We believe that through communion we renew our covenant with God and with each other. We remember - and participate in - the life and death of Jesus Christ until he returns. Communion is reserved for those who have surrendered their lives to the Lordship of Jesus.
At Sandy Hill Community Church, we take communion about seven times a year, six during Sunday morning services and one during our Good Friday service leading up to Easter Sunday. During our Good Friday communion service we also observe footwashing - an act of service prompted by the
example of Jesus as he washed his disciples' feet as seen in John 13.
